OUR CLUB PATHWAYS
At Maulden Netball Club, we firmly believe in allowing our members to pursue all roles within the game, not just playing. We have three main pathways which are: Performance, Coaching and Officiating.

We are lucky enough to have had members excel in all three of these avenues, representing our club and making us incredibly proud.

COACHING & LEADERSHIP
Within the Club, we have a well established Young Netball Organiser (YNO) programme that feeds into our Coaching programme.

Our YNO programme was created by our Head Coach, and aims to build and develop the leadership and critical thinking skills required to be a coach. Our YNOs are invaluable to our coaches, whilst they oversee the whole training session our YNOs can run the warm-up and cool-down, work on a specific skill with a few individuals, set up the next activity, demonstrate a skill or activity, or run a part of the session with a small group.

Many of our YNOs choose to go on and complete a ENG Level One Coaching Course. Most of these are funded by our MNC Coaching Development Fund, which we often fundraise for through our tea stalls on a Saturday morning.
Completed the Coaching Pathway: Grace Milligan, Kennedy Knight, Sophia Tiana, Poppy Harris, Charlotte Rogers, Megan Moclair, Amelia Wileman, Maddie Glenister, Caitlyn Knight, Lauren McBain, Milly Dunger.

On the Leadership Pathway: Eleanor Milligan, Eva Tiana
OFFICIATING
Our Officiating Pathway is arguably one of our most important, as our umpires are truly invaluable to our club. In order to enter any tournament or league we need to have umpires. For example on a normal Sunday morning at the league we may need 5 umpires at once.

Our trainee umpires begin by taking the Into Officiating Course, and then practicing their umpiring skills by officiating games at training. They then progress onto umpiring games at Junior and Youth League with one of our umpiring mentors. When they are ready, they sit a theory and practical exam and if they pass they are officially qualified. Fortunately, the examiners are familiar faces to the club as they have often umpired our games throughout the season. Once qualified as an IO Umpire, you can go on and gain additional qualifications as a C Award Umpire, to umpire more senior games.

If you or your daughter wishes to qualify as an umpire or want more information, feel free to contact your Coach, Nicky Knight, or our umpire-coordinator Grace Milligan.
Qualified: Grace Milligan, Kennedy Knight, Megan Thorning-Curtis, Beth Palmer, Amelia Rayner
